ABOUT DR. VAUTER
Dr. Rebecca Vauter is a board-certified forensic psychologist (ABPP, 2009) and licensed clinical psychologist in Virginia since 2005. She has been conducting forensic mental health evaluations since 2004, and has qualified as an expert in multiple jurisdictions. Her work spans criminal and civil contexts, with a particular focus on high-risk and underserved populations.

Dr. Vauter is authorized to conduct evaluations across all PSYPACT-participating states (APIT #16469), and maintains an independent practice serving courts, attorneys, and agencies. Her background includes:

Six years as CEO of a maximum -security forensic facility;

Leadership roles at local, state, and national levels, with oversight of large, interdisciplinary systems;

Clinical work in correctional, outpatient, and institutional settings in both public and private sectors.​
She serves as a peer reviewer for Virginia Forensic Evaluation Oversight Program, and is a former member of the Virginia Board of Psychology. She also holds a long-standing academic appointment at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she has taughtt graduate-level courses in:

Dr. Vauter also has experience with clinical supervision and ethics consultation. She currently chairs the Ethics Committee of the American Board of Professional Psychology (2025), and previously served as Associate Director of the Center for Ethical Practice in Charlottesville, Virginia.
